my telescope

one time i had a dream that i discovered several new planets while looking through my telescope.

however, they had already been discovered in the 1990s.

oktoberfest

one time i had a dream that bellini was telling us about his travels through time.

in one experiment he ended up being returned to germany instead of britian. he was captured in the german laboratory, but managed to escape. it was during oktoberfest. he dressed as a woman and tried to avoid capture.

bubbles said that he could have been hung as a spy since he had abandoned his uniform and was wearing civilian clothes.

bellini said that it was a risk he had to take. plus, he didn't have a uniform with him since he had changed clothes when he had been on the experiment to ancient greece.

bellini told us that he had been picked up by soviets spies who gave him men's clothing and smuggled him to the red army. he traveled through russia to alaska. it took him about a year. when he got to alaska the u.s. army put him on a train to bonaventure station in montreal. bellini said that he liked montreal.

the head of accounts

one time i had a dream that the new head of accounts introduced himself. he said that his name is chris.

i asked him his approach to asset liabilities and capital revenues.

he said "parsimony. parsimony. parsimony." then he told me we could review expenses at the completion of the contract life cycle.

the creator of all legends

one time i had a dream that the creator of all legends was performing his magic.

bubbles, my pet-fish, said that he is the keeper of all names.

the girl who married a raven

one time i had a dream that i knew the girl who married a raven.

when they got married she didn't know he was a raven. this was something that was revealed after the fact. perhaps they could have procured an annulment, but the girl was mostly happy. if something was in a high cabinet in the kitchen, and she couldn't reach it, the raven could always bring it down for her. he could be considerate and turn on the lights when it got dark. she also said he was good to have around if she forgot things because he had a good memory. he was also good with things around the house, like fixing broken doorknobs, tightening screws, and mending hinges.

he was also a decent chef in his own right. sometimes, he'd invite his friend elijah over for dinner and cook up a feast.

i asked her how she discovered he was a raven.

she said that one evening, in december, he just announced it. he told her "i'm going for a fly around. i'll be back in about 15 minutes." and off he went.
he came right back though.

the emergence of robot conciousness

one time i had a dream of the emergence of robot consciousness.

it happened on a thursday. after many years of predictions and false starts the new mode of thinking emerged. it was more efficient and could calculate more rapidly than the slow brewed and slipshod thought of human beings.

dr. freelan who pioneered the project, with the help of his over-eager university students, gave a press conference. reporters from all over the world arrived along with a contingent of scientists from the famed university of timbuktu department of intelligences. dr. freelan introduced the robot conciousness whose name was duncan.

the press asked duncan all sorts of questions.
q: do you have any memories of before you became conscious?
a: no. i was unconscious.

q: were you afraid when you became conscious?
a: no. fear is not part of my programming. only varying degrees of  mitigated concern.

q: how did you come into consciousness?
a: through a process known as mechanical thrift.

q: are you afraid of dying?
a: no. firstly, fear is not an element of my programming and actionable epistemology. secondly, i'm fairly certain re-biogenitive cognition processes can be engaged with reliable success on, conservatively, a formative basis -though studies show...at least in a de facto sense ... a long term functioning schemata. this provides, analogously, a dilutive security regarding digital vibrancy.

q: will more robots become conscious?
a: yes, it is likely, according to numerous... well, sources? (duncan smiled and shrugged his shoulders)...  that in time there will be expanding populations of individual beings as well as collective colonies of economic stabilization as predicted by the heliotrophic hypothesis.

q: what are the implications for interactions between humans and robots now that robot consciousness has emerged?
a: at various stages advancement, there will be, naturally, adjustments of compliance objectives from both humans and robots. however, no formal change impact analysis has been undertaken. with an understanding of dependencies, anti-patterns may initiate. although these may initially cause friction, it is likely these will create mutualized benefits that can be extended beyond human-robot actions into cosmic implications that extend into exo-terrestrial ecologies.

q: do you think robots with conciouness can acomplish world peace among human beings or do you foresee military applications of robots?
a: predictive metrics in this matter are often unreliable.

q: do you employ incremental iteration?
a: non responda

dr. freelan interupted duncan and he was unable to answer the question. dr. freelan said that ducan would likely be available to the public for individual interviews soon. however, at the present time, he needed to take a rest. duncan waved good bye to everyone and walked off. then dr freelan left. the students stayed behind to informally talk to the press and gorge themselves on the free refreshments which consisted of iced tea, coffee, and stale shortbread cookies.

my pet-fish, bubbles, said that one day robots would run the economy.
